February & March Update

Writer: Pam SteelPam Steel

Food 2 Kids Big Spring is serving 354 elementary-age students a weekend food sack every week during February & March. We have been purchasing food sacks from the West Texas Food Bank for $6.00/sack and each sack contains juice, cereal, shelf-stable milk, canned meats (such as lasagna), a beef stick, peaches, and applesauce. The West Texas Food Bank delivers the food sacks to the five Big Spring ISD campuses we serve and each Thursday or Friday the teachers and staff at Marcy, Moss, Goliad, Kentwood, and Big Spring Intermediate distribute the sacks.

We are GRATEFUL to the Big Spring community that continues to support this important mission of feeding children! We have been serving the community since 2013 and we've continued to serve throughout the COVID pandemic because of our partnership with Big Spring ISD.
